Melbourne-Mitzvah Lodge is one of the largest B'nai B'rith groups in Melbourne.  Founded in 1985, we have grown to almost 200 members.  We offer a rich range of activities and projects to our members.  We are an open group:  we welcome new members all the time.  We aim to provide a warm, family environment in which we care about each other, enjoy each others' company, and work together harmoniously for the benefit of the community through such projects as Making a Difference and Mitzvah Care.  Our Environment Group promotes knowledge and action on conservation issues.  We know that by working together as a group we can achieve more than we can as individuals.

Our philanthropy includes assisting institutions in Israel, aiding Jews in distress globally, rendering both hands on and financial assistance to local Jewish institutions and also donating to non Jewish causes.  A significant achievement has been the production of a large print Jewish diary (LPJD). With an ageing Jewish community, the large bold print highlighting both Jewish and general holidays has proved such a winner that the Multicultural Commission has granted Melbourne-Mitzvah Lodge a subsidy to help with this year's production.

We aim to encourage younger members to join to ensure guaranteed continuity of the Unit.
