The author. Dr Paul Gardner AM is a retired academic, the son of German Jewish refugees who emigrated to Australia in 1938. In retirement, he took up genealogical research and has had several papers published in Avotaynu, the US-based international journal of Jewish genealogy. The Unsung Family Hero is his first book-length narrative work.
