The Raoul Wallenberg Yad Vashem Teacher Study Grants program provides Australian educators with long-term professional development in how to appropriately instigate Holocaust studies in Australian schools at various levels.
The grants are available for secondary teachers to attend Holocaust Seminars at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.
Since its inception, 370 teachers have successfully completed the program, returning to Australia to not only creatively teach Holocaust studies at age-appropriate levels, but gain a greater understanding about the lessons needed to be learnt as a result of the Holocaust. Underpinning this program is ultimately the intent to reduce antisemitism, prejudice and racial intolerance.
