Raoul Wallenberg Unit , which was instituted 14 July 1985; so named after Swedish born Diplomat who saved 100,000 Jews and countless Christian partisans from Hitler's camps, has a membership of 145 who meet monthly at the Caulfield Park Pavilion.
Activities include annual awards of the Raoul Wallenberg Study Grants to Jewish and non- Jewish secondary school teachers to attend the Gandel Holocaust Studies program for Australian Educators at Yad Vashem, Israel; annual commemoration of Raoul Wallenberg hosted by the City of Port Phillip; monthly guest speakers get -togethers.
Other activities include 3 full day bus excursions, visits to art galleries, Unit - hosted luncheons and film nights.
Raoul Wallenberg Unit supports Courage to Care, annual Jewish Youth Music Eisteddfod, which is now called "Showcase" and Jewish Youth Art Competition, held at Glen Eira Town Hall, both B'nai B'rith Victoria projects, and monthly music Fellowship concerts, and Kalanit , an Israel Commission project. Volunteers also attend aged care activities including Emmy Monash .
Raoul Wallenberg groups also exist in Canada, Chile, England and Germany.
