B’nai B’rith Showcase, previously known as the B’nai B’rith Eisteddfod, began in 1992. It was established to foster Jewish musical talent through live performance opportunities and adjudication from an expert panel of musicians, with musicians aged between 13 and 18 eligible to enter, across all instruments including voice.
Past patrons have been the late Hon Sir Zelman Cowen and Lady Anna Cowen AM with the current Patron, Adrian Glaubert.
As an annual event, Showcase was open to young Jewish musicians, providing an opportunity for young musicians to be a part of a process whereby they not only receive feedback from highly accomplished adjudicators but gain valuable performance experience.
Whilst the competition ran through the two hard years of COVID lockdowns, the competition took a hiatus in 2022 as we work to establish the right framework within which the Jewish community’s young musicians are again able to showcase their talents.
