The Israel Commission is an initiative of B’nai B’rith AUS\/NZ with regions working together to support its purpose of:<\/p>\n

Raising money for charities and organisations in Israel that require financial assistance<\/li>\n
Raising awareness of needs in Israel amongst our members with an aim of increasing their involvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The B\u2019nai B\u2019rith Israel Commission supports the following projects:<\/p>\n
In Beer Sheva – Be\u2019er Sova, \u201ca restaurant for the needy\u201d, where up to 100 people a day receive a nourishing hot meal for only one shekel. The place is run entirely by volunteers, employing one professional chef.<\/p>\n
In Karmiel – a Children\u2019s Village (Kfar Hayeladim) supported by B\u2019nai B\u2019rith Lodge Kalanit. At present there are approximately 120 children, ranging from toddlers to teenagers who are being fostered by 15 families living in small cottages in the Village.<\/p>\n
In Sderot – The Israel Commission has furnished and equipped a Communal Centre on Sderot, where psychological help is provided and where the young people can meet and socialize in a pleasant surrounding and atmosphere.<\/p>\n
In Jaffo – we support the Jaffa Institute for Higher Education which runs a large food distribution centre, after-school tuition and care to hundreds of local children, provides shelter and education to children at risk, integrated drug prevention program, integration programs for Sudanese and Somali migrants as well as summer camps and Scholarships for higher education.<\/p>\n
In Bet Oved – we support the Israeli Guide Dog Institute, where guide dogs are raised and trained and matched up with a blind person – enabling them to become self-sufficient and to live a regular life.<\/p>\n
The Israel Commission relies entirely on generous donations from B\u2019nai B\u2019rith members.<\/p>\n
