B’nai B’rith Israel Appeal

In the days following the October 7 terrorist attack on Israel, we emailed you and encouraged you to make donations. At that time we suggested the UIA Emergency Appeal and I imagine you have all been supportive not only of this but also other local appeals which provide assistance to the many and varied needs of Israel at this time. B’nai B’rith ANZ has made a donation of $10,000 to the UIA appeal, with both BB NSW and BB Victoria foregoing, without hesitation, their nomination rights (i.e. interest accrued) to afford this donation.

Since sending that email we have received correspondence from B’nai B’rith in Israel advising us that all Lodges there have come together and are working to help the soldiers who are fighting in the south of Israel as well as the families from the Western Negev area (surrounding Gaza), where the criminal and brutal murders took place, and have had to flee the area with nothing. 

B’nai B’rith Israel is appealing to us and all B’nai B’rith organisations around the world, to participate in financial assistance to support their efforts in Southern Israel. For this purpose, they have opened a special account to accept these donations. BB Victoria will send 100% of the funds donated to this account.

So, we are asking that if you have not already given all that you can please consider making an additional donation to help B’nai B’rith Israel who are on the ground and mobilised to support those they can.

Please note that these donations will not be tax deductible and both BB NSW and BB Victoria will be contributing to this campaign in addition to the donations you will make.
