Click and Connect

The Click and Connect project is a meaningful volunteer-led initiative designed to help young people in Israel develop their conversational English skills. The program is run by B’nai B’rith ANZ and connects Israeli school children—often from underprivileged communities—with volunteer English speakers in Australia through weekly online conversations.

At its core, the project focuses on one simple but powerful idea: learning by speaking. Alongside classroom learning, Click and Connect pairs children with volunteers for short Zoom sessions. In these sessions, students practice conversational English in a relaxed environment, discussing everyday topics like family, hobbies, school, and pop culture topics.

Beyond language skills, Click and Connect also builds confidence as well as the students’ global awareness. Students form connections with their volunteer, gaining exposure to different accents, cultures, and perspectives. For volunteers, the experience is equally rewarding, offering a chance to make a tangible difference with just a small weekly time commitment.

Ultimately, the Click and Connect program empowers young people with the communication skills they need to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
