Established in 1974, Aviv Lodge and Chapter has over 100 members.
Members are provided with a forum to socialise and share common interests, while raising funds for both Jewish and non-Jewish charities. Members gather on a monthly basis, enjoying games and music evenings, in addition to attending discussions facilitated by numerous guest speakers.
Annual social functions include marshalling for the City to Surf, Melbourne Cup luncheons and an Australia Day Picnic.
Aviv Lodge and Chapter organises a Chanukah concert and party for all members of B’nai B’rith NSW.
Over the past 35 years, Aviv Lodge and Chapter has provided local and overseas charities with much needed funding, including Zahal Israel (rehabilitation equipment), Giant Steps, Prince of Wales Hospital (children’s cancer research), volunteer bush fire group and Clown Doctors. Aviv Lodge and Chapter’s members have also been integral in packing and delivering Pesach and Rosh Hashanah charitable parcels.
